1.Rama,   elder   brother   of   Lakshmana,   reaching   the   hermitage   of   Bharadwaja   after   the   fourteenth   year   had   been   completed   on   the   fifth   day   bowed   down   to   the   sage   with   devotion.

3.Rama   inquired   from   the   glorious   Sage   Bharadwaja   whether   he   had   heard   there   was   good   harvest   and   health   in   the   city   of   Ayodhya,   Bharata   is   active   and   his   mothers   are   living   happily?

5.Sage   Bharadwaja   told   Rama   that   Bharata   with   matted   hair   covered   with   dust,   keeping   his   wooden   sandals   in   front   awaits   his   return   and   all   are   well   in   the   palace.

6,7,8.Sage   Bharadwaja   told   the   ever   victorious   Rama   that   earlier   seeing   him   in   clad   in   bark,   entering   the   forest   with   Sita   as   the   third   person   besides   Lakshmana,   disinherited   from   sovereignty,   alone   practicing   virtue,   going   on   foot,   renounced   all   possessions,   carrying   out   the   orders   of   father,   deprived   of   all   enjoyments,   steadfast   on   implementing   the   pledge   to   Kaikeyi   and   living   on   roots   and   fruits,   he   looked   like   a   god   fallen   from   heavens   and   seeing   him   in   that   conditon,   pity   arose   in   the   Sage's   mind   for   him.
