1.Thereafter   Matali   refreshed   the   memory   of   saying   '   O!   gallant   Rama   why   are   you   fighting   Ravana   as   if   you   did   not   know   how   to   kill   him.

2.Matali   told   Rama   to   discharge   the   missile   presided   over   by   Brahma   on   Ravana   to   kill   him.   He   also   said   that   as   foretold   by   gods   the   time   of   his   death   has   now   arrived.

3   to   13.Then   Rama   reminded   by   the   words   of   Matali,   took   hold   of   that   flaming   arrow   like   a   hissing   serpent,   bestowed   by   the   godly   sage   Agastya   the   excellent   arrow   which   was   gifted   to   him   by   Brahma,   which   never   misses   the   target   and   created   earlier   by   the   powerful   Brahma   for   use   by   Indra   with   immeasurable   strength   and   who   was   eager   to   conquer   the   three   worlds,   presided   on   whose   feathers   by   god   of   wind,   on   the   tip   by   god   of   Fire   and   sun,   whose   shaft   was   made   of   ether,   in   weight   like   Meru   and   Mandara   mountains,   emitting   splendour   from   its   body,   provided   with   lovely   feathers   and   decked   in   gold,   made   of   the   essence   of   all   beings,   shone   like   the   sun,   like   flaming   fire   at   the   time   of   universal   dissolution   with   smoke,   like   a   venemous   serpent,   capable   of   splitting   hosts   of   enemies'   elephants   and   horses,   smashing   gateways   also,   capable   of   smashing   mountains,   with   body   smeared   with   blood   of   various   victims   and   coated   with   their   flesh,   very   dreadful   in   appearance,   hard   as   the   thunderbolt,   with   loud   sound,   capable   of   dispersing   armies   of   various   kinds,   frightening   all,   hissing   terribly   like   a   serpent,   providing   nourishment   in   the   battle   to   buzzards,   vultures,   herons,   packs   of   jackals   and   ogres,   equal   in   form   to   Yama,   terrifying,   delight   of   the   monkeys,   destruction   of   ogres,   very   picturesque   being   tied   with   excellent   feathers   of   Garuda,   excellent   arrow   of   the   worlds,   dispelling   the   fear   of   Ikshvakus,   taking   away   the   glory   of   enemies   and   delighting   self.
