1.Then   Sugriva   the   king   of   monkeys   to   be   made   known   to   Hanuman,   who   wanted   permission   spoke   to   him   as   follows.

2.Sugriva   told   Hanuman   that   with   Kubhkarna   killed   and   the   young   princes   felled,   Ravana   cannot   come   to   battle   now.

3.Sugriva   told   Hanuman   that   those   foremost   monkeys   and   other   monkeys   with   great   might   and   agile   present   there   should   speedily   invade   Lanka   holding   torches   in   hand.

4.Then   the   sun   having   set   those   foremost   of   monkeys   went   towards   Lanka   with   torches   in   that   dreadful   evening.

5.The   ogres   with   dreadful   eyes   posted   as   guards   assailed   all   round   by   the   monkeys   with   torch   in   hand   suddenly   ran   away.

9   to   12.The   palace   when   set   on   fire,   alongwith   it   pearls,   glossy   gems,   corals,   diamonds,   cotton   dresses,   charming   silks,   blankets   of   sheep's   wool,   various   blankets,   gold   articles,   arms,   various   well   stored   saddles   and   ornaments   for   horses,   the   chains   worn   around   the   neck   of   elephants,   materials   for   chariots,   polished   coats   of   mail   for   warriors,   armour   for   horses   and   elephants,   bows,   swords.   bow   strings,   arrows,   lances,   giads,   javelins,   carpets   of   feathers,   whisks,   shields,   tiger   skins   and   abundant   musk   were   all   burnt.
