21,22.Indra   accompanied   by   created   beings   went   to   the   realm   of   Brahma   and   complained   to   Brahma   about   Kumbhakarna   devouring   created   beings,   assailing   gods,   destruction   of   hermitages,   abduction   of   others'   wives   and   other   wicked   deeds   of   Kumbhakarna.

26.Brahma   told   Kumbhakarna   that   surely   he   was   begotten   by   the   son   of   Pulasti   for   the   destruction   of   the   world   and   therefore   from   then   on   he   will   sleep   like   one   who   is   dead.

28.Ravana   told   Brahma   that   like   a   champaka   tree   is   never   cut   at   the   time   of   bearing   fruit,   it   was   not   equitable   to   curse   Kumbhkarna   like   this.
