Sugriva sit facing east
on an excellent throne

excellent covering
with top like a temple
entrance decorated with garlands
after reciting
sacred texts, the foremost
of monkeys like Gaja, Gavaksha,
Gavaya, Sarabha,
Gandhamadana, Mainda, Dwivida, Hanuman,
Jambavan and
Nala bathed Sugriva with
limpid and fragrant water
collected from
various rivers, streams, sacred
places all over and all
the
oceans stored
in pots of gold and
poured through beautiful horns
of bulls
and golden
jars according to the procedure
laid down in scriptures
and
enjoined by
eminent sages as the Vasus
bathed Indra.
