O!   Best   among   men!   The   royal   sage   Bhagiratha   too,   having
performed   the   sacred   water-oblations   to   the   sons   of   Sagara,
as   injuncted   and   as   per   procedure,   having   completed   the   rituals,
becoming   pure   and   earning   wide   fame,   entered   his
capital   city.   What   a   wonder!   Thereafter,   with   no   anxiety,
he   ruled   over   the   kingdom.   Behold!   (17-18).

were   extremely   happy,   with   no   sufferings,   rid   of   fear   and

O!   Scion   of   the   Kakutstha   dynasty!   Whoever   will   cause   this
auspicious   episode   of   bringing   Ganga   to   earth,   which   is
capable   of   bestowing   prosperity,   conferring   long   life,   wide   fame,
blessing   with   offspring,   provider   of   heaven,   being   heard   by
the   teacher   class,   the   warrior   class,   and   others,   his   ancestors
become   pleased   as   also   all   the   gods   are   pleased.   Whoever,
reverentially   listens   to   this   episode,   he   will   attain   all
his   desires   and   be   cleansed   of   all   his   sins,   his   life-span
lengthens   and   his   reputation   soars   (21-23).
