In   this   place,   when   Lord   Siva,   the   god   of   gods,   was   engaged   in
enance   observing   all   its   strict   injunctions,   entering   into   a   trance
and   spending   his   time   as   a   householder,   surrounded   by   celestial
groups,   this   ill-willed   one   (cupid)   tried   to   disturb   the   Lord and
consequently   was   reduced   to   ashes   by   the   high-souled   one
uttering   `Hum"   (11).

O!   Delight   of   the   Raghu   race!   Burnt   by   His   wrathful   eyes, the   different   limbs   from   the   body   of   this   wicked   one got   dismembered   (12).

Since   he   lost   his   `angas'   (limbs),   that   place   is   called   the
prosperous   `Anga   desa'   (Anga   country).   What   a   wonder!     (14)

stay   here   happily.May   we   enter   the   penance-grove   after taking   bath,
clean   in   body   and   mind,   having   chanted   the   secret formulae   and
performed   fire   oblations'   (17-18).

other   items   relating   to   respecting   a   guest,   in   respect
of   Viswamitra,   (they)   thereafter   did   the   honours   due
