2,3.Rama   on   hearing   the   unpleasant   news   which   was   like   a   thunderbolt   released   by   Indra   in   a battlefield,   fell   down   to   the   ground   with   raised   arms   like   a   tree   felled   by   an   axe   in   the   forest.

4,5.Rama,   fallen   on   the   ground   overcome   with   grief   as   stated   above,   looked   like   a   sleeping elephant   which   was   exhausted   by   beating   the   river   bank.   His   brothers   along   with   Sita sprinkled   water   on   him.

6.Rama,   regaining   consciousness,   shed   tears   from   his   eyes   and   wailed   pitiably.

7.Rama,   hearing   that   Dasaratha   had   gone   to   the   heavens,   spoke   these   words   full   of
righteousness   to   Bharata.

8.Rama   told   Bharata   that   since   father   had   met   his   destined   end,   what   will   he   do   in   ayodhya.

9.Rama   asked   Bharata   who   will   rule   in   ayodhya   being   bereft   of   Dasaratha?

10.Rama   told   Bharata   what   use   will   he   be   to   the   mihgty   soul   when   as   a   useless   son   he   had   not performed   funeral   rites   for   Dasaratha   who   died   because   of   grief   thinking   about   him.
