1.Prahasta,   Commander-in-Chief   of   the   ogre   army,   having   been   killed   by   Nila,   the   foremost   of   monkeys   the   ogre   army   with   dreadful   weapons   and   the   fury   of   the   sea   took   to   flight.

2.Immediately   on   reaching   Lanka,   the   ogres   told   Ravana   that   Prahasta,   their   Commander-in-Chief   having   been   killed   by   Nila,   son   of   Agni.   Ravana   on   hearing   their   words   fell   prey   to   anger.

3.On   hearing   that   Prahasta   had   died   in   the   battle,   Ravana   overcome   with   grief   and   mind   tormented   with   anger,   spoke   to   the   leaders   of   the   ogre   army   as   Indra   would   to   the   leaders   of   celestial   army.

4.Ravana   told   them   that   an   enemy   by   whom   his   Commander-in-Chief,   Prahasta,   the   exterminator   of   Indra's   army,   has   been   exterminated   with   his   followers   and   elephants   should   not   entertain   low   opinion.

5.Ravana   told   them   that   without   any   discussion,   he   himself   will   proceed   to   that   wonderful   battle   field   for   the   destruction   of   the   enemy   and   victory.
