That   one   (Yudhajit),   the   direct   uncle   to   Bharatha,   the son   of   the   king   of   the   Kekaya   kingdom,   having   seen   and exchanged   pleasantries   with  the  king  (Dasaratha, his sister's  husband), spoke  thus  to  the  king   (2).

O!   Tiger   among   kings!   O!   Ruler   of   the   earth!   Having   heard at   Ayodhya   that   your   sons   have   set   out   for   Mithila,   along with   you,   for   the   purpose   of   marriage,   at   once   due   to   the desire   to   see   the   son   of   my   sister,   I   have   hurried   hither. May   you   be   pleased   to   gladden   him   (the   king   of   Kekaya),   on this   score'   (5-6).

Having   heard   those   sweet   and   sweetly   uttered   words   of   his, that   king   Dasaratha,   seeing   the   beloved   guest   having   come, honoured   him   with   all   types   of   hospitalities,   the   one   who was   deserving   such   honours   (7).

Thereafter,   along   with   his   high-souled   sons,   having   spent   that night   there,rising   again   on   the   morn   of   the   morrow,   having performed   all   ritualistic   observances   as   laid   in   the   code   of   conduct, (Dasaratha)   left   for   the   sacrificial   arena,   with   the   sages   in   the   lead   (8).

Rama, with  all  ornaments properly adorning,  in the company of his  brothers,  wore  the  bracelet,  the  insignia   for   getting   into wedlock,at   the   apposite   hour   known as  `Vijaya',  which  would bestow   all   round   success   (9).
