While   Rama   was   speaking   thus,   overwhelmed   by   rage,   Tataka, with   uplifted   arms   and   raising   battle   cries,   charged   towards him   (13).

The   realised   seer   Viswamitra,   restraining   her   with     his pronouncing   `Hum',   blessed   the   Raghavas   for   auspiciousness and   victory   (14).

That   Tataka,   who   was   strewing   dust   thickly,   rendered   both   the Raghavas   invisible   for   a   moment,   veiled   (as   they   were)   by   clouds of   dust   (15).

Thereafter,   assuming   magical   powers,   (she)   heavily   rained   huge boulders   on   the   Raghavas   and   this   infuriated   Rama   (16).

Smashing   to   smithereens   the   rocky   rain   released   by   her,   who   was charging   towards   him,   Rama   cut   off   both   her   hands,   with   a   rain of   arrows   (17).

Then,   the   enraged   Lakshmana,   the   son   of   Sumitra,   cut   off   her ears and   the   tip   of   her   nose,   who   was   at   that   time,   still  roaring   and   without   arms   (18).

Capable   of   assuming   any   desired   form,   that   Yaksini   at   once   took various   forms,   went   out   of   view,   created   confusion   and   released a   terrible   boulder-rain,   all   the   while   roaring   aloud   (19).
