Those   two   immaculate   princes   Kusa   and   Lava,   knowers   of   all   precepts, high-souled,   singularly   fortunate   and   endowed   with   all   auspicious   features, sang   according   to   the   instructions   (they   had   received   from   sage   Valmiki), that   superior   poem,full   of   righteous   aspects,   after   having   mastered   it comprehensively   in   the   assembly   of   sages,   pious   persons   and   learned Brahmins   (12_13).

`What   a   sweet   music,   especially   those   verses   in   the   poem!   This   (story) took   place   long,long   ago   but   it   has   been   demonstrated   right   in   front   of our   eyes   (17).
