Now the school has a strength of 175 children. Over 90 percent of the children develop linguistic sklls in three to four years time and join regular schools for integration. It's alumni consists of about 300 children. Some of them have qualified themselves as professionals with degrees like CA, ICWA, ACS, B.Arch, BE, MS, MBA and MCA. Others are in at different levels of the education process, from Primary School right up to the Post-graduate and Research level.

    DHVANI has brought sound into the lives of hearing impaired children and has enabled them to break the barrier of silence and merge into the hearing world. Here is a shining of example of one such child, Preetha, a standing example of the success of DHVANI

    Preetha was born in 1969 with a congenital sensory neural profound loss of above 100 dB in both ears. She joined the early intervention programme when she was one year old, and remained in the programme till she was nearly seven. She went from success to success in her school and college career, always at the top of her class and a winner of many tennis tournaments. She took her B.E (Civil Engineering) with a First Class from the Engineering College, Guindy, Chennai. Pursuing her studies in the USA she had the distinction of taking a double M.S. within 4 years and she is now working as a System Support Engineer in a leading Bio-Technology Company in the USA.
