301.  You must destroy that which is the body, which identifies itself with the intellect and gives the `I am' sense.  Thereafter the real Self  will shine, free from all distractions.

¢nm¥IÚya¢h¢mm|   destroying it
¢n¢D|   this treasure
Kkr|   which confers bliss
D£raE{n¤BaE³[|   the wise man can enjoy

302.  Bliss is a crest jewel protected by the ego serpent  with three heads (the three gunas). Cut these heads asunder with the sword of discrimination ; and as these heads  reappear again and again, the serpent itself must be destroyed. Then alone will the jewel be attained.

303. Any trace of poison in the body will cause discomfort . How can it be otherwise?

p#Ïykq    tt¯Ïv¢vvEka¢ddmhmÞm£¢t    ¢vÓdtE    tt¯Ïvm¯    .304   .  
AhmaE{ÏyÓt¢nv¦äya   through the complete cessation of egoism
tÏk]tnana¢vkÚps|¶Ïya    through the stoppage of the diverse mental waves due to it
p#Ïykq   and through
tt¯Ïv¢vvEka¢ddmhmÞm£¢t    the discrimination of the inner Reality
¢vÓdtE   one realizes that
tt¯Ïvm¯   Reality as "I am This".
 
304. When   you   have   destroyed  the ego  and the distractions it causes, then  by discrimination  of   "I   am  That", the  Truth will be realized.

ydÒyasat¯p#açOa   which has come by the relative existence
j¢nm¦¢tjraѤ:Kbh^la    full of the miseries of birth, decay, and deat

KtnaE:   and Bliss Absolute
s|s¦¢t¢rym¯   the bondage of Samsara
 
305. Hence, this ego must be forcefully ejected, as it gives the  idea "   I   am the   doer   and   enjoyer" ,  and your identifying with it  is the source of all evil,   error, death, birth etc., inspite of  your  being  blissful  Consciousness .

¢vnahmÒyasmm¤Ýy   any transmigration for you

B¤HqßvaÏmsam#aÇys¤K|    enjoy the bliss of your own empire, the majesty of the Atman

307. The ego is the enemy  of   the  Self, and is like   a   thorn   in the   throat; take   it   out   with   the   instrument   of   discrimination, and   enjoy   the   blissfulness   of  your  own  self.

prmaTIlaBat¯   through the realization of the Supreme eality

smas¯ÞvaÏms¤Kan¤B¥Ïya    be free from all duality through the enjoyment of
p¥NaIÏmna   the Bliss of Self

¢n¢vIkÚp:   for you have attained your infinite nature
 
308. Then,  get rid of the  actions  of  the ego,  and all  desires  except the desire for the real   Self;       attaining  bliss thus,  you should  remain  in  that changeless  Brahman.

309. Even  when  the ego  is cut  down  at  its   root, it  revives even in a moment of inattention and creates hundreds  of  distractions, even as  the clouds   in   the  rainy season  disperse, to collect again.

310. You  should  not  give the subdued ego  any  respite because even a momentary thought  of  sense  objects will revive it as water  revives  the  lemon  tree.
